Time to plan your own writing! Just like we did together as a class, select a person, place and thing, then complete the graphic organiser to help you add details to your ideas using the advice from "Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street".
Week 3: Narrative: Scheming Against an Adversary

1. Start to generate the idea: Where do you think would be the worst possible place to be stuck with someone you are having a disagreement with?
2. Explore the power of the detail: What were some of the very specific details included in this story?
3. Analyse student work samples: In a group of 4, you will be allocated one writing sample to read with a partner. Rule up a T-Chart in your Writing book, with the headings: "Interesting Ideas" and "Specific Details". Take notes while you read.
Back in your group of four, compare your T-Charts. What is similar? What is different? Do you need to revise and improve your work before sharing it? Be prepared to share your thoughts with a different pair who analysed a different writing sample.

At the end of the session today, share with a partner some of your photos. Why did you choose them? What do they mean to you?
